Scotland day one

This morning I needed a visit to the bunny planet.  Waking up at 4 am and getting the though the crazy Dublin airport to sit and wait for Ryan Air to post the fing terminal was not fun. Only to get there and stand in line so that we had some what decent seats...then to choose are seats and have a company behind us being ridiculously loud. I tried to sleep most of the way but could not get comfortable.   Ok ok I will stop complaining I know I am being a jerk I have noting to complain about.

Got to Edinburgh about 8:15 and took the Airport express to our B and B it was amazing.  So fast and comfy! It dropped us off right in front of our B and B which is right by the Zoo entrance.  We had arranged with the owner to allow us to drop off our luggage early. It was so great that we did not have to lug it around all day.   He gave us our key and we had straight out to meet Uncle Al and Aunt Wendy.  We took the bus to city center ended up getting lost and having to walk a pretty far way but we really did not care.  We finally got to their apartment and all headed out for breakfast.

We went to breakfast at this very nice little place, very cozy and relaxed with yummy food.  While I was city there I laughed at a sign with big letters that said "addicted to cocain? We can help!" Then Aunt Wendy said that it was a recovery center where people come to work to get there life back together.... Open mouth insert foot! Oh my god I felt horrible.   Eww I felt so bad, still do! So anyway at lunch we devised a somewhat game plan for the rest of the trip.  We decided that for the rest of the day we would take the hop on hop off bus around and go to a museum.

Luckily the Hop on Hop off tour busses stop right by where we were.   We walked over and bought tickets for the bus. We decided to do the 48 hour grand.  This alloys you to take any of the five bus companies tours at anytime for the next 48 hours.  So we hoped on and took the bus to The National Museum.   Wow talk about the coolest museum! Their is interactive everything it is so great. And I forgot the best part of the whole thing it was FREE!!!! I know incredible right!!! Anyway so during the museum they have an exhibit and then a way to apply the exhibit in a hands on way.  It was a teachers dream!!
This is just to show you how beautiful this was.

Next they had an exhibit on machines and robots and here are the fun things that they had.
The clock put on a cool show.

The robot spelled Abby!!

Getting put in the gallows for gabbing to much.

An original beheading machine that was used for the 1500's to early 1700's.  It was given to the museum and displayed very soon after it was used.  Can you imagine how much cleaning they had to do?

Look I told you I would be an astronaut.

When we were done with the museum we decided to stop for a drink at Deacon Brodie's.  Mr. Brodie was the man that was commissioned to design the gallows.  Then he made keys that fit into others doors to break in and steal from them.  He was caught and eventually killed by the gallows that he designed.  Haha I find this story so great.

We went back to the place we are staying to check in and take showers before going out to dinner at First coast.  It was very yummy with a great staff!
