Driving to Carrara

DO NOT EVER drive in PARIS.  Oh my goodness it was awful.  All we were trying to do was get out of town. It was so scary and difficult.  There are people everywhere and so many cars and cops. People in Paris use their horns A LOT so be prepared to be pissed!

The public transportation system is wonderful.  Out of all the places I have been in the whole world.  We never  waited longer than 4 minutes for a train.  You transfer lines so easily.   There is a line that legitimately gets you everywhere in the city. Another cool thing is that in the train, the sign that tells you the stops.  Lights up.  After you pass a stop it goes dark.  It is the most helpful thing we don't really know where you are going. We did not take a cab the whole time we were there.  We either walked (we did this a lot, just to see more things) or we took the metro! Totally loved it, it is just so much better than the EL.

So now we are driving on an expressway on our way to Carrara in Italy.   We are all really excited.

We just stopped at a rest-stop and it was  so clean.  We ate at a sandwich stop. Man it was so yummy.  I made the comment "no wonder their obese population is lower.  It must be do to the fact their fast food is fresh products."   I mean literally I had a salad and it was amazing. Everyone else had great looking sandwiches.  What they do is they take a baguette  and slice it in half then put delicious stuff on it.  Like a cheese and ham sandwich, sort of BLT sandwich, and niscoise which had tuna, eggs, lettuce, olives, and tomatoes.

View from rest stop!

We drove though the France Alps.  Man it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.  It was incredible but there were so many tunnels.  It was crazy! Also the tolls from Paris to Carrara were around 135 euro.   It was crazy 45 euro each.

Ankle still swollen! Got hives on my face. We hope that the meds works.

Just wait for the great pics from tomorrow! !
